How to access
To get started, visit the OTEP online learning platform and sign up for a free account, or log in if you’re already registered. From there, you can access self paced online courses via the Course Library and download your letters of completion upon finishing each module.

Fundamentals Training in Opioid Treatment
This introductory module is designed for health professionals interested in gaining a foundational understanding of the NSW Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) and the safe prescribing of opioid pharmacotherapies. Completion of this course is also a prerequisite for those intending to enrol in the Opioid Treatment Accreditation Course (OTAC).
Opioid Treatment Accreditation Course (OTAC)
OTAC is a comprehensive course on opioid treatment that aligns with the NSW Clinical Guidelines.Completion of the course is a requirement for medical and nurse practitioners who wish to apply for accreditation to become accredited prescribers of opioid pharmacotherapies in NSW.
Treatment of Opioid Dependence with Long-Acting Injectable Buprenorphine (LAIB)
Long-acting injectable buprenorphine is a practice-changing pharmacotherapy that has expanded the model of care for patients with opioid dependence. This short course is designed to support prescribers and other health professionals in NSW in providing this treatment safely and effectively.
Naloxone: Medication to Reverse an Opioid Overdose
An online short course designed to support prescribers and other health professionals with guidance on providing naloxone to patients at risk of opioid overdose in community settings. The course also covers the available naloxone formulations and methods of administration.
Driving Safety: Sedating Medications & Opioid Agonist Treatment
An online short course for health professionals caring for patients receiving opioid agonist treatment (OAT). This course explores how OAT and other factors may affect driving safety. It also covers short- and long-term fitness to drive, with a focus on sedating medications and opioid pharmacotherapy.
